I always find it ridiculously idiotic when talk of abortion and birth control and such is labeled under ‘womens health’ issues.  The only thing ‘health’ related about any of this is the negative effect it has on all those unborn or murdered babies.

Lev 20:1  And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
Lev 20:2  Again, thou shalt say to the children of Israel, Whosoever he be of the children of Israel, or of the strangers that sojourn in Israel, that giveth any of his seed unto Molech; he shall surely be put to death: the people of the land shall stone him with stones.
Lev 20:3  And I will set my face against that man, and will cut him off from among his people; because he hath given of his seed unto Molech, to defile my sanctuary, and to profane my holy name.
Lev 20:4  And if the people of the land do any ways hide their eyes from the man, when he giveth of his seed unto Molech, and kill him not:
Lev 20:5  Then I will set my face against that man, and against his family, and will cut him off, and all that go a whoring after him, to commit whoredom with Molech, from among their people.

The Pentagon for the first time will require military bases worldwide to offer emergency contraception or the so-called morning-after pill, a military spokeswoman said Thursday.

The decision follows a recommendation by an independent panel of doctors and pharmacists in November, said Defense Department spokeswoman Cynthia Smith. The panel determined that emergency contraception should be added to the military’s list of medications that must be stocked at each military facility.

The decision represents a policy shift from the Bush administration when such a change was resisted, Nancy Keenan, president of the abortion rights group NARAL Pro-Choice America, said in a statement praising the decision.

Over much resistance from abortion opponents, the Food and Drug Administration approved the over-the-counter sale of the morning-after pill to adults in 2006.

The drug, which contains a high dose of birth control pills, can be used to prevent pregnancy after unprotected sex by blocking ovulation or fertilization. Critics of the contraceptive say it is the equivalent of an abortion pill because it can prevent a fertilized egg from attaching to the uterus.

Smith said she did not know when the policy would be implemented.

The headline seems to be a bit misleading really because “Nothing in the Individual Abortion Form shall contain the name, address or information specifically identifying any patient.”  Note the highlighted sections below.  Regardless, if I had my way every God-cursed, child butchering piece of filth in the country would be known.  Abortion is a shameful, hideous, wicked, selfish and evil thing to do, and even if the god of the secular humanists (the State) allows unborn children to be ripped into pieces and sucked up in a vacuum tube legally, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob does not.

“And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.” Matthew 10:28.

A judge in Oklahoma extended on Friday a temporary restraining order on a law that would post information online about women who get abortions in the state.

In extending the restraining order, Oklahoma County District Judge Daniel Owens denied the state’s motion to dismiss the case, putting the measure on hold until a February 19 hearing.

The law, passed in May, requires doctors to fill out a 10-page questionnaire for every abortion performed, including asking the woman about her age, marital status, race and years of education. In all, there are 37 questions the women are to answer.

Critics say the act would be harassment and an invasion of privacy.

State Sen. Todd Lamb helped draft the abortion legislation and describes it as “a common sense measure with bipartisan support.” He said the left has tried to skew the law’s intent through a campaign of misinformation.

“We’re not trying to embarrass anybody, hurt anybody or make anybody’s identities known. That’s not the purpose of the legislation,” the Republican lawmaker said.

“We want to collect hard data that can be a useful tool in helping prevent future unwanted pregnancies.”

One section of the “Individual Abortion Form” says the woman must state her reason for seeking an abortion and answer this checklist. “Having a baby:
• Would dramatically change the life of the mother;
• Would interfere with the education of the mother;
• Would interfere with the job/employment/career of the mother.”

A Democratic former state legislator called the law “abusive and invasive.”

“Nosy neighbors with some effort could identify or, even worse, misidentify these women who answer these questions,” said Stapleton.

Lamb, who is running for lieutenant governor, rejects that notion. How can it violate women’s privacy, Lamb said, if their identity is kept confidential?

The measure specifies women’s identities will be protected. “Nothing in the Individual Abortion Form shall contain the name, address or information specifically identifying any patient,” it says.

“Nobody’s identity will be made known,” Lamb said.

Troy Newman, the head of the Kansas-based anti-abortion group Operation Rescue, said the law is “designed so that the pregnant mother can have as much information as technology and medicine will allow.”

“Naturally, the abortion industry wants to block this, because they know the more information the mom has, the less likely she is to abort her baby,” Newman said.

The Center for Reproductive Rights argues that the measure is unconstitutional and in violation of the state’s “single subject rule” because it covers different aspects of abortion. The law also bars women from seeking abortions solely because of the sex of the fetus, with fines up to $100,000 for doctors who “knowingly violate” it.

In an effort that has produced heated public feuds as well as significant changes in proposed health care legislation, religious leaders are zeroing in on followers of their faith in Congress to make sure that taxpayer money will not be used to fund abortions.

The latest confrontation comes between Rep. Patrick Kennedy, D-R.I., an abortion-rights supporter, and Roman Catholic Bishop Thomas Tobin, who asked Kennedy not to receive Holy Communion if he maintained his position.

The tension is palpable as senators prepare to take up a version of legislation that pro-life leaders say does not provide the same assurances as the version that passed the House early this month. Catholic leaders were considered key in pushing for the restrictions in the House bill.

Richard Doerflinger, associate director of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishop’ Secretariat of Pro-Life Activities, said Monday that his group will “work with senators of both parties” to address their concerns. But his group blasted the Senate health bill on Friday, and Doerflinger said Monday that the conference will oppose it if their concerns are not met.

Senior Catholic bishops are threatening to oppose the health care bill under consideration in Congress if lawmakers don’t make significant reforms regarding federally funded abortions and other issues.

No one should be required to pay for or participate in abortion,” the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops said in a letter Thursday to members of Congress.

The letter follows a recent Senate Finance Committee vote that defeated Republican amendments that Democrats said would broaden current restrictions of federal funding for abortion.

The amendments were introduced by Sen. Orrin Hatch, R-Utah. They sought to explicitly state that the current ban on federal funding for abortions would apply to all aspects of health insurance in the bill and prohibit the government at any level from forcing hospitals, doctors and other health care providers to perform abortions.

Federal law allows government funding for abortions only in the cases of rape, incest or danger to a mother’s health.

“We sincerely hope that the legislation will not fall short of our criteria,” the letter says. “However, we remain apprehensive when amendments protecting freedom of conscience and ensuring no taxpayer money for abortion are defeated in committee votes.”

The letter is signed by Bishop William F. Murphy, diocese of Rockville Centre, New York; Cardinal Justin Rigali, archdiocese of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; and Bishop John Wester, diocese of Salt Lake City, Utah.

The congressional showdown over Kansas Gov. Kathleen Sebelius’ nomination to President Obama’s Cabinet may focus less on her qualifications than on the issue of abortion, analysts said.

Then-presidential candidate Barack Obama listens to Gov. Kathleen Sebelius during a January 2008 rally.

Obama on Monday nominated Sebelius to head the Department of Health and Human Services. Cabinet nominations require Senate confirmation, and anti-abortion groups already are making their views known.

Analysts suspected that Obama would face a battle over abortion if and when he makes a nomination to the U.S. Supreme Court, but religious conservatives could use Sebelius as a warm-up for the seemingly inevitable fight.

Calling Sebelius an "enemy of the unborn," Catholic League President Bill Donohue said the Kansas governor’s nomination is particularly disturbing because the health and human services secretary is one of the few members of the administration who can directly affect abortion policy.

"Sebelius’ support for abortion is so far off the charts that she has been publicly criticized by the last three archbishops of Kansas City," Donohue said in a statement. Video Watch why filling the Cabinet post is urgent task »

The liberal group Catholics United has come to Sebelius’ defense, saying the Kansas governor has taken several steps to lower the abortion rate in her state. The group also has posted excerpts of a 2006 speech in which Sebelius said she opposed abortion.

"My Catholic faith teaches me that all life is sacred, and personally I believe abortion is wrong," she said then. "However, I disagree with the suggestion that criminalizing women and their doctors is an effective means of achieving the goal of reducing the number of abortions in our nation."

McCain Alarms Base With Abortion Comment

mccain.pngTop social conservative leaders in key battleground states are urging John McCain not to pick a running mate who supports abortion rights, warning of dire consequences from a Republican base already unenthused about their nominee.McCain’s comments Wednesday to the Weekly Standard’s Stephen Hayes that former Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Ridge’s pro-abortion rights views wouldn’t necessarily rule him out quickly found their way into the in-boxes of Christian conservatives. For those who have been anxiously awaiting McCain’s pick as a signal of his ideological intentions, there was deep concern that their worst fears about the Arizona senator may be realized.

“It absolutely floored me,” said Phil Burress, head of the Ohio-based Citizens for Community Values. “It would doom him in Ohio.”

Washington, D.C., July 29, 2008
The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Women, Infants and Children (WIC) program, designed to provide needy moms and young children with nutritious foods and health care referrals, is referring those same moms and kids to Planned Parenthood.

“It is absolutely outrageous that the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program that WIC sponsors would refer mothers to the nation’s largest abortion chain for health care,” commented Jim Sedlak, vice president of American Life League. “Planned Parenthood kills more children than any other single organization in the country. How can a program for children associate with it?”

The WIC Learning Online Web site links to Planned Parenthood Federation of America as a “participant referral.”

Planned Parenthood received over $336 million in taxpayer funding in 2007 alone, while declaring an overall profit of $115 million.

Sedlak says this Planned Parenthood partnership with a program designed for children is just one of the ways in which the government subsidizes Planned Parenthood’s push to sexualize kids.

“The American taxpayer is simply fed up with Planned Parenthood feeding at the trough of government largesse,” Sedlak said. “It is time we ended all association between government organizations and Planned Parenthood – a billion-dollar giant in the sex industry.”

Analysis of the leak posted a few weeks ago, via Wikileaks

Texas Catholic hospitals and their parent health systems are engaging in intense conversations with their local bishops and scrambling to examine their records in light of a new whistleblower report alleging that thousands of sterilizations, and possibly some abortions, took place in 23 Texas Catholic hospitals between 2000 and 2003.These charges come at a critical time, when Catholic health care is battling pressures on many fronts to compromise Catholic ethical principles, and bishops have been working to strengthen their national code for Catholic health care, “Ethical and Religious Directives for Catholic Health Care Services” (ERDs).

The report is based on detailed data available from the state of Texas, which requires hospitals to file information from inpatient records. The whistleblowers, who remain anonymous but were contacted through an intermediary by Our Sunday Visitor, compiled diagnostic and procedure codes to determine 9,684 instances of allegedly unequivocal “sterilization for contraceptive purposes.” Data indicating 39 abortions, however, was subject to interpretation and may involve morally acceptable procedures, like removal of a stillborn baby or emergency services for an abortion performed elsewhere.

I also recommend Killer Angel: A Biography of Planned Parenthood’s Founder Margaret Sanger
It’s available online for free at Freebooks.com

Via: National Review Online

Margaret Sanger, whose American Birth Control League became Planned Parenthood, was the founding mother of the birth-control movement. She is today considered a liberal saint, a founder of modern feminism, and one of the leading lights of the Progressive pantheon. Gloria Feldt of Planned Parenthood proclaims, “I stand by Margaret Sanger’s side,” leading “the organization that carries on Sanger’s legacy.” Planned Parenthood’s first black president, Faye Wattleton — Ms. magazine’s “Woman of the Year” in 1989 — said that she was “proud” to be “walking in the footsteps of Margaret Sanger.” Planned Parenthood gives out annual Maggie Awards to individuals and organizations who advance Sanger’s cause. Recipients are a Who’s Who of liberal icons, from the novelist John Irving to the producers of NBC’s West Wing. What Sanger’s liberal admirers are eager to downplay is that she was a thoroughgoing racist who subscribed completely to the views of E. A. Ross and other “raceologists.” Indeed, she made many of them seem tame.
