It is Pharisee-ism if unmarried women cover their head when they talk about God, or on special “worship” occasions, and claim to follow 1Cor 11 doing so. At best, they are doing it to feel better about themselves, at worst, because they want to show off their holiness.
The authority spoken off in 1Cor 11 that the head covering signifies they are not under yet (in other words, 1Cor 11 does not talk to unmarried women), and if it were for modesty reason that they cover, they would do so whenever they are seen by other people, and not whenever they feel, or wish to feel, “closer to God”.
Just like the Pharisees, they make void Yahweh’s Law Word for the laws of man.
